@penaltyleader98 exactly
@speaker3600 i will still be listening to buckethead even when my kids have kids, buckethead is just too fucking Godly to just listen to him as a phrase in your life, i know im going to be jamming to bucket all my life
@penaltyleader98 i understand
@speaker3600 And they will lsiten to it and be like “My dad’s a fucking idiot, i’ma go listen to some Slash now”
My God, I always click on the link to this expecting to hear something chilled out. But as always, I am completely wrong. It seems that discovering Buckethead music on YouTube is like walking through some kind of crazy maze, you never know whats around the corner.
@YouGotSubbed slash = repetitive blues scales with bends
@therealpsp1mp So was hendrix. So was clapton. So was page. So was Gilmour. I rest my case – you’re an idiot with no knowledge of music. fuck off :p
@YouGotSubbed gilmour – im pretty sure that phrygian chords arent blues scales.
same for clapton – clapton was influential for his tone and sound. same for hendrix. page was just a reliable rhythm player.
fuck off. especially for gilmour, saying something like that is like saying that holdsworth plays like slash. slash just sounds the same in every single song. nothing ever changes, if you are praising people that repeat the same style and concept over and over again, you probably like malmsteen
@therealpsp1mp Who’s talking about chords? I’m talking about his simplistic 12-bar blues scale solos – in every song he wrote. Go listen to Floyd, dumb ass. Clapton was influential for his tone and sound? DUH dumb ass, fuck off. Stop acting like you’re intelligent for stating the obvious. It doesn’t change the fact he uses blues scales only. lololol fail. “Page was just a reliable rhythm player” Just stop. LOL go suck on bucketheads dick little bitch aha. not gonna argue wit lil 15 year olds. ;p
@YouGotSubbed i find it ironic that you call me 15 years old, yet i havent even branched out from the fact that slash has nothing but linear runs of notes on a blues scale. im stating that everyone else had something else for their credibility other than that. clapton and page and hendrix defined an entire era of lead and rhythm guitarists, yet slash did nothing for music except lead people (such as yourself) to believe that he has some sort of creativity, instead hes riding coattails to stardom
@YouGotSubbed including the fact that hes attempting to reinvent the wheel, chords are a part of music too. if you actually knew anything in general about music theory, you would know that chords outline the basic note pattern of a scale, which in turn, relies on a scale. slash just uses the exact same thing, over and over and over again, with no advancing in his style or technique. hendrix could write music, gilmour could write, clapton could write, page could write, slash just does slash.
@YouGotSubbed slash has the repetitive mindless shred thing down, alot like buckethead does. but clapton had the tone and the playing style, and the creative writing, and shapes and figures and scale discrepancies that made his music unique. same for hendrix, page, not so much. yes, clapton uses a blues scale, but he uses it differently in every song. i cant say the same for slash. now, you shut your fucking mouth before i fuck it. get the fuck out.
@YouGotSubbed oh, and judging by your profile, listing disturbed and nevershoutnever as bands i should listen to, yet megadeth not one of them, its pretty obvious how old you are.
@therealpsp1mp lol4paragraphreplies. UMAD? Yeah. judging on ur opinion that buckethead is better than slash, you’re 15. Nevershoutnever and disturb give more to music in this era than Buckethead. Megadeth is a bunch of generic tunes and riffs. if u think not, u have a very close-mind + clearly have not heard much music. Slash has great solos and riffs, and if u think otherwise ur another ignorant jb fan. One in a Million, Estranged, and sweet child o mine just shows his groundbreaking skill.
@YouGotSubbed im not mad actually, its the simple fact that slash has no technique to speak of, and no writing credibility. nevershoutnever is an image that is forcefed down your throat by the media as being popular and creative, when in reality, they arent straying past previously written and recorded pop culture media. disturbed, THAT would be generic riffs. megadeth as being generic riffs, baffles me. groundbreaking skill my ass. kill yourself.
@therealpsp1mp
I wouldn’t go as far as to say that Slash has NO technique — he does have a firm grasp of pentatonic riffs. He does have a flair for expressive playing. However, he never did much more than that — nothing that hasn’t been done by countless talented blues players. Slash wears a cool outfit and rips pentatonics… that’s about it. He’s one of the most overrated folks out there — but certainly not without technique.
@YouGotSubbed We like Buckethead. Get over it. Congratulations, you are different. Your prize is attention on the internet.
@YouGotSubbed
Hold on a sec here… you mean to tell me that you like Disturbed, Nirvana and Korn and yet you put Megadeth next to the Jonas Brothers? You sir don’t sound logical at all but in fact a character from a surrealistic painting. Maybe you walk on your hands and have your ears situated beside your bunghole — maybe that’s what wrong.
You defend Slash’s overrated status and yet you appreciate Michael Batio. Stand on your head next time before listening and get back to us.
Wow slash arguments? listen to a lot of the amazing guitarists that were inspired by him now, he must have had something going for him. Personally i think he’s not that great, and theres a ton of people that are almost unheard of that crush him, for example look up Tosin Abassi!
But all in all, slash has some really catchy riffs and soulful solos, leave it at that.
