@OgreTheKid I like to use examples that are off-the-wall. People here are often so damn serious. I hope you understood my point. Subjectively speaking, there’s no way you can ever understand my experiences. I assume that critical thinkers and atheists have never experimented with anything beyond left-brain logic. Rather than spend your days condescending to people and telling them they’re “wrong” why don’t you look into meditation, quantum physics, esoteric concepts, etc.?

@village1diot I like to be a little bizarre because the AE people provide the same routine, mundane, primitive answers without the slightest bit of open-mindedness beyond their “absolute truth.” Their followers are simply looking for verification and validation; there’s no room for anything else.

@village1diot I guess I need to explain: it wouldn’t be the alarm clock doing the talking, it would be some sort of subconscious/metaphysical projection.

And, I may not have an absolute understanding of all of your experiences, but I can understand a lot. And, if you have first hand knowledge from God based on personal experience, then I understand this: your god is a confusing dick who plays favorites.

@TheOptimistPrime Okay, I know I didn’t explain myself very well. Sorry for my rage, hatred and disgust.

Here’s what I meant: the alarm clock isn’t doing anything differently — obviously it’s going to make the same sound it always makes — but our right brains interact with the world in very abstract ways. External objects and experiences trigger certain emotional/visual/audible reactions.

I have much more to say, but I’ll just stop. Nobody’s interested anyway! D

Nope! Praying does not make someone a coward.

Damning complete strangers to eternal torture because they don’t believe the same way, from behind a computer, makes one a coward.

Making absurd claims and then using evasion and insults to avoid supporting the claim makes one a coward.

The REAL question is, why do so many religious people do these things?

They are just practicing skepticism. Nothing more. When applied correctly, skepticism is one of the best tools one can have to filter truth from fiction. Their minds are open, but only to solid, rational evidence when it comes to “supernatural” claims.

An open mind is a terrible thing to waist on nonsense.
