My mom has a very old clock that belonged to my grandparents. Mom wants to know if anyone knows how old this clock is and if it is worth anything. Here is a picture of it. The clock is in good working order. Thanks

Through all that I've seen, I truly believe now. You know; the orbs, paranormal possession, etc.
I've watched the shows "Paranormal State", "Ghost Adventures", "The Haunted", and "Celebrity Ghost Stories". The "evidence" I've seen and actually thought about STILL goes through my mind, and gives me goosebumps. I was also talking to my mom about this one day, and on Celebrity Ghost Stories, a star said this, or it might have been from another show: "We are surrounded by hidden angels that guide us, but the demons are the ones that show", or something to that effect.
I don't believe in physics, but I might some day. On the other hand, I believe like no tomorrow about the paranormal. There's just too much evidence not to, at least for me. Some people maybe believe it's really stupid, (like my dad) but that's their opinion, and this is mine.
Although people have partly debunked orbs from cameras, I still believe that if you take a picture in-front of your kitchen fridge and see a neon orb, what would you say? If you saw a figure shape, what would you think?
Some people believe EVP's (electronic voice phenomena) are sounds of the paranormal. I believe it myself - look at this story line:
IN JANUARY, 2007, the Central New York Ghost Hunters (CNYGH), based in Syracuse, New York, were invited to investigate an old hotel in upstate New York. (The owners of the hotel have asked to keep its location confidential.) The investigation proved to be one of the most intensely active the group has ever encountered, and produced an EVP – an electronic voice phenomena recording – that is remarkable not only for its length, but also for its terrifying content.
It may well be the most intense, frightening EVP ever recorded.
THE INVESTIGATION
On that weekend in January, CNYGH founder Stacey Jones and several members of the group went to the hotel on an overnight stay for what they thought would be a routine investigation. They had no idea what they were in for.
Originally built in the late 1800s, the building was in its colorful history the site of some nefarious activity, a fact that might be key to what is heard in the EVP.
On Friday night, Stacey and her group set up their equipment – audio recorders, video recorders and other electronics – and settled in, hoping to document some evidence for the haunting the owners had claimed. Most investigations are relatively quiet, but this night was filled with paranormal activity, including muffled voices of unknown origin, footsteps from unseen bodies and more. Members of the group I spoke with confirmed that it was the most active haunting they had personally experienced.
The real shocker came the next day. On Saturday afternoon at about 3 p.m., two female CNYGH investigators and a member of the owner's family (also a female) sat on the staircase of the hotel with a digital voice recorder, intending to capture some EVP. They chose the stairway because they had heard soft conversations and footsteps on the floor above, although no one was up there.
When they later played the recording back, however, what they heard were not soft voices and footsteps, but something totally unexpected and completely terrifying.
THE EVP: WHAT YOU'LL HEAR
Stacey Jones describes what you'll hear on the recording:
"You can [faintly] hear the three females talking throughout the recording. You will hear a female – the family member – say, 'Hello, baby,' and another long conversation. Those are all human voices. But what sounds like a struggle or attack is going on as well.
"The male [voice] you hear was not present at the hotel. You will hear a cuckoo clock (which was not present) a ticking of a hall clock (which was there); you will hear what sounds like the microphone being moved (which was not touched) and then the sound becomes clearer.
"You will hear a creaking door and slamming of the door, which is real. Then you will hear a [unknown] woman say, 'Get off me,' and what sounds like the woman being attacked. The struggle continues for awhile, and during the EVP you can hear some of my investigators' conversations. After interviewing my investigators, they said they went and sat on the stairs of this hotel, because they heard from an above floor, what sounded like footsteps and conversations, not what you hear on this recording. When the noises stop, you hear the investigators participate in a lulled conversation. They stated that they started to talk when the noises stopped. In their conversation, you will hear a male voice say, 'Help me' several times."
Download and listen to the EVP
Caution: the recording is violent and may be too intense for some listeners.
It's a large file, so the download may take awhile. If you're having trouble downloading the file, try right-clicking the link above and choose "Save Target As..." in Internet Explorer or "Save Link As..." in Firefox to save the file to your computer's hard drive, then play it from there
Well, more detail then "I believe in paranormal", or "Don't believe", please. I want to know why exactly - what is it that makes you believe or not believe?
It is true - the shows COULD be so edited, you could laugh the entire time. You'll never know - anyone can do camera effects.
Again, I don't believe in physics... although, my parents had an experience before I was born (I was born in '98), and it turned out, Kevin Bacon's grandparents lived in that 1938 house. So when my mom moved in - in 1964 - she could feel a presence. And finally when my dad came to tear apart the "abandoned" house, (my moms mom died there in 1985, therefore she was so worn out from taking care of her mom for 13 years, the house was partly abandoned), all they both felt was sadness I believe. I need to ask her again - but anyhow, they were there, they truly were. My mom felt them when she was only even 4. Really, look the Bacon's up.
That helped me believe... and partly these shows did also, but still, who knows? Although the shows could put the paranormal things in there by camera effects, how could they make this up? Why would they scratch themselves badly?

When I wake up in the morning,
A pure white curtain of lace
is rustling in the breeze.
The cuckoo clock in the room
says its 7 o'clock and Mom's
voice says, 'You'll be late
if you don't get up!'
I'm still half asleep, and i think,
'please let me sleep in for 3 more minutes'.
I'm late for school every single day
like clockwork, my teacher makes me
stand out in the hallway
and I get failing grades on my tests.
The crepes we'd all eat on the way home.
We'd gaze dreamily at a party dress in
a show window.
The little things bring such joy and
im happy
I wish, I wish I could go back to
that kind of normal life
I want go back.

I think he mentions a cuckoo clock. One of the lines translates as him remembering his mom crying in the night, but strong in the day. I think he asks the cuckoo clock to bring his dad back. I know this is totally not helpful, but if anyone is a fan of Spanish Rock and you know the song, please help.

My mom just bought this beautiful antique clock. She was told it is German but it doesn't have a brand or company name on it. It does have a date on it on the back though, it was made on
February 25th, 1902. She knows a lot about antiques (she used to have an antique shop) and says it's for sure German but based on what I know, (I'm an art major) I say it looks French. The guy she bought it from said that it's porcelin, but it could be bone china. It's about a foot long and has pink flowers painted on it, and filligree details in the white china and the gold clock face. If anyone knows anything about clocks, it would be really helpful!! We'd like to know where it's from and the brand. If you're not sure, it would also be helpful to include a link of a website that could provide us with some good info.
Thanks a lot for responding

Hey, my mom has a Black Forest German Cuckoo clock she bought last year. One day while setting the time (back to where it should be) she accidently hit the hour hand. Ever since then the clock no longer chimes on the correct hour.
To illustrate ... the clock could strike 6 but it would chime 8 times ... or strike 2 and chime 7 times.
Anyone know how to fix this problem?
