Cuckoo clock stores were everywhere and the "i" was super easy to find! So, we parked and Layton and Jana went to find a place to stay. We left the parents at the shopping. Before we walked out of the store, Jim & Willa Jana AND Judy had bought clocks and were shipping them home! WJ and Jim had to carry the weights for the clock they bought!!! Crazy! The town was sort of dead at night, but we were able to find a place to serve us our usual schnitzel and wurst and yes....desserts! The next morning we visited the World's largest cuckoo clock and even got to go inside the working parts which was pretty cool. We also went to the town hall to see some wood carvings that were pretty random. (We learned that town hall is rathaus in German.) Then, we drove up to the wasserfall (waterfall) which is Germany 's largest waterfall. We treated ourselves with lunch and the traditional Black Forrest cake at Schafer Cafe who has been making it from a recipe that was created in 1905! It was none of our FAVORITES but it was really yummy. RANDOM Layton , Judy and Jana got a lesson on "real" cuckcoo clocks. We found out that traditional cuckcoo clocks have a specific bird.
