I have an antique mantle clock and don't have room for it right now, so I'm gonna put it in my closet. Should I store it wound, or unwound?

If you wind it, it will unwind itself anyway. . Pack it well and it will be ok.
It s does not matter if it is used or not..t. It still needs to be maintained. When you take it out it should be cleaned a d lubricated. That is all it should need.

Unwound.This takes the tension off. Protect it from moisture and dust. Consider giving the internals a lube to inhibit corrosion. Not too much!

Let it unwind as you would not want tension on the coil. And store it in newspapers as they will draw moisture away from the inner workings.
